Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to write a few sentences, to let everyone out there know that I'm still an excellent Graphic Designer, Web Designer, and Love to work with 3D Animation.
I have recently come to the relization, that Computer Graphics is a rather "flooded" profession, at this particular point in time,(at least out here in the New York, New Jersey East Coast area) so guess what....
Yep, I'm back in school once again, this time I learned about...
(I say "learned" because I've since graduated since I 1st posted this info.)
AutoCAD, or Computer Aided Drafting/Drawing.
It seemed to me to be a rather logical next step, being that I have a 24 year background as one of the finest High-End Finish Carpenters,(Union and non-union, but I'm a hardcore pro-union man) and Cabinetmakers in NYC, and all around carpenter.
Plus the fact that I have my AA Degree and 2 other Votech Schools certificates, and have been working in computer graphics since 1999. My idea was that by mixing all my years as a carpenter, and my training in computer graphics, that learning about drawing plans, blue-prints (2D & 3D) using a computer seemed to me to make good sense.
I'm looking for employment as a:
Graphic Designer, Web Designer
or in
Multimedia, and 3D Animation
So
If you need a great graphic designer, or a guy that knows about AutoCAD Drawing, and can also use Lightwave or Bryce to render out a beautiful, realistic looking finished product, long before it ever gets to the production level. I'm your man.

Please continue, where you will be able to view 3D work showing my AA Degree in computer graphics, and other certificates, awards, seminars, and workshops attended.

This is for graduating Katharine Gibbs Visual Communications Courses in 9/02.
When I 1st started with KG I only went there for the 1st 18 months to get this certificate. Then I liked it so much that I figured I'd stay a bit longer and go on for the whole kit and kaboodle, and thats when I got my AA Degree. (If you look down 4 more certificates).
I have to say that they did have a pretty good program with their Visual Communications. It was well Rounded, and got me back into drawing, doing DTP, Graphic Design, Web Design, Multimedia, and 3D Animation with Lightwave.

I got this while attending Gibbs for doing extra work with Flash.
It's a funny thing, when I was in College the 1st time back in the 80's, when Mom and Pop were willing to pay for everything I didn't do so well, because back then I was in a Rock band and I thought I was going to be the 2nd Bruce to get famous out of the Asbury Park Rock Scene. Then I had about 20 years of being a carpenter and had to bust my #%$&! for my pay everyday for all those years. Then when I went back to school in 1999, I was always the 1st to come, the last to leave, there for all the extra credits I could get, if the teacher wanted 5 samples, I handed in 25. Now it seemed so easy to me, compared to working in the subfreezing or the blistering heat, humping sheetrock up 6 flights of steps before lunch. So thats why I got a few extra certificates. I wanted to learn anything and everything I possibly could while I was attending this school. Not only that but this was going to be the 1st school that I was going into serious debt for that I'd have to be paying off for the next 20 years or so. Lifes funny like that.

This was the 2nd School that I attended. I have to say that I did learn alot there about Photoshop, Illustrator,Pagemaker, Frontpage and QuarkXPress.
This was a Private Vocational Technical School in Eatontown NJ. The Teacher I have to say, he really did know what he was doing. I wasn't all that computer literate back in those days. I had just graduated from Henkels and McCoy, [My 1st school for computers, where I learned about MS Office,& Windows...(see below this)
Lifes Funny:
5 years after graduating from Teksolv, I'm back in a School called "CDM Institutes"
and guess what....???
Yep, I'm back in the same exact building at One Main St. Eatontown NJ. Just on a different floor this time around. Last time I learned about Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Pagemaker and Frontpage, and this time I'm learning about AutoCAD.
a funny footnote:
The old school that I went to 1st (Teksolv) thats not there anymore. I want to print a sort of "retaction"
It seems that I was given some wrong information as to just why Teksolv closed down. One person told me that they shut down because they used pirtated software, and got caught. I previously had writen here, some unflattering statements about Teksolv and it's past owners. I want to say I appologize for printing faulty info.
I've now been told that they were not closed down because of using pirated software but for much more persoanal reasons. I'm sorry for painting a less than honerable picture of the past owners of Teksolv. It seems that Mrs. Kassim was more honest than I had previously given her credit for, and I want to say, here and now, that Teksolv was NOT closed down for using Pirated software. She was a good woman who helped people where ever, and when ever she could.

This was the very 1st school that I attended to learn about computers. I then moved onto Teksolv, and learning about computer graphics.
When I 1st moved here to NJ, I answered an ad in the Newspaper for "Cable TV Installers, No Exp. Nes. Will Train" and when I got the address given in the APP, I was asked to take a test. I thought no problem. Then when it was over (about 3 hours later) I'd realized it was an "aptitude test", and that I'd walked into a Job Training agency. At that time it was in Red Bank, and it was called JTPA. I said, "So you're going to train me to install cable TV"? and the counselor there said "If thats what you want". I asked what were my choices, and she said that I had to come back in 2 weeks after they get the results from my test back. Well they came back saying that I was best suited to do something creative. I could have told them that one. Since I was a kid, I was always drawing, playing the guitar, I was a singer/songwriter, poet, writer, and loved acting and all the arts. So I asked "How can I mix these 2 things together, computers and being creative" and she wound up sending me to this school 1st to see if I'd even like working with the computer. I did, then she sent me onto Teksolv. I went to Gibbs on my own after those two schools.

This is the AA Degree I recieved from Gibbs in Montclair.
I finally got that AA Degree that I always knew I could get. If you mix together all the schooling I went through to learn to be a "Computer Graphics Specialist" it adds up to more than a BA Degree at this point.

For the 1st 18 months I attended the schools campus in Piscataway NJ. Then for the last semester I had to go to Montclair NJ to get the Degree. At that time Piscataway didn't have the set up, or the curiculum to give out AA Degrees but their sister school in Montclair did. Also at that time, Gibs was the only school that I was able to find that was rather close to me, and that offered animation with the course.(and I LOVE animation)

I got a few of these for High Honors in College.
As I said above. When you start going back to school after working for years in a laborous trade, like carpentry. You start to value the benifits of a good education. Something that I didn't care too much about back in my teens and early 20's when I was all rebelous, and thought I was going to be the next Rock Star to come out of Asbury Park. So I only put up one Honors Certificate here, I actually recieved 6 of them. I was in the Honors league, my whole time in College this time around, but after 6, I said they could stop giving me these little certificates. I didn't want to seem greedy after all.

Just a goof picture of me in Photo class
Just a "Gag-shot" done for my photography class while attending Gibbs for my AA Degree. I mean the hair was really all mine, as well as the cigarette, and leather jacket, and classic Ray-Ban, Wayfairer Shades. Yea that was me back then.. Scroll to the bottom to see what I look like since "The Haircut"on 5/23/05. Just that I put it here for laughs.
Now you can see why, unlike most men, getting laid was never really a problem for me. Lookin' like that, playing guitar in a band, and you have to remember AIDs wasn't invented yet. I never understood guys complaining about woman and rejection. The ladies did love that "Bad-Boy" syndrome, oh yea,but talent, and being a nice guy once you got to know me, helped alot to.

A Sales Course, I took so that I know about selling, and dealing with people, the Meet & Greet, and Qualifying them all that sales stuff.
Along with learning in school about Marketing, Macroeconomics, I also took an extra class, with a great teacher and a 72 hour hands on seminar so that I would know about doing high end sales like selling cars.
Not only that but I did have to do all my own selling when I was in my own business in Manhattan doing Brownstone, and restaurant renovations in the East Village. In NYC if you can sell there New Jersey is cake. No it all just comes down to dealing with people, and I've always been good at dealing with people.

All the frames around the certificates, and diplomas, were made in Photoshop CS, and Lightwave 3D.
