My History Skills Looking For Employment
I Have over 25 years working as a carpenter, cabinetmaker, framer - (metal and wood).
My specialty is High-End Residential Trim. Crown Moldings, Casings, Baseboards, Hangin doors, Wainscote, etc...
I have been working in the construction trades from 1974 until today. In the past I've worked as an Inground pool installer. While working at that company, I got to touch upon all the trades. Inground pools require, framing-(carpentry), sidwalks, retaining walls, bracing-(Masonry), Pump Installation-(Plumbing & Electrical), Land surveying, backhoe work, manual labor, dealing with the customers on a daily basis. Gazebo's, and enclosures, (rough & Finish carpentry). I taught me all phases of the contruction trades. I came away from working with Custom Pools after 5 years, being a crew cheif, foreman, and doing all phases of the business. It also taught me that carpentry was what I liked most out of all the trades.

After that I have worked for large framing companies at the Jersey Shore. Large and small companies in Manhattan doing renovations, metal framing, sheetrocking, taping, trimwork, every phase of remodeling, except for roof work, and stair building. During my years as a carpenter I've also worked in many Cabinet Making shops, and every tool that entails, shapers, sanders, precision table saws, miter, jig, handsanding, finishing, planers, etc... I worked for Local Union #135 where I worked mostly doing high-end residential trim work. Some clients I've worked for are, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Ralph Lauren, Georgio Armani, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Donald Trump. Trade Shows, and some concrete form making.
I have worked on some of the finest and most expensive Real Estate on Earth. In Manhattan NYC, NY.

I've worked both for myself, other companies, and for Local Union #135 in Manhattan NYC for 6 years back in the early 90's. I have all my own tools, and transportation

High-End Residential Finish Carpentry is my specialty. I have worked on some of the finest homes, condos and apartments in Manhattan, and at the Jersey Shore. Everything from 5 and 6 piece dental crown mouldings made of maple, mahogany, Zebra-wood, pine and man-made materials, to clamshell casings, (I've Matched Historical), crown, wainscote, baseboard, and chair-Railings. Installing solidcore custom doors, and jams, and window trim. Mostly interior but I have worked on Exterior Soffit, and Gingerbread ornamental moldings. I am a creative Finish Carpenter, but I have done everything that fits under the heading of "carpentry" during my years as a carpenter.

IN 2000, I decided to finally follow my heart, and went back to College to get a college degree, that I've been wanting to go back and get since I dropped out in 1981. I took a few years off from working as a Finish carpenter, and wound up going to 4 different schools.
I ended up with 2 certificates in computer graphics, worked with programs like MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, PowerPoint, and Frontpage.
Then I finally got my AA Degree as a "Computer Graphics Specialist" from Katherine Gibbs "COLLEGE" (no not one their shools, but their College)and due to my previous schooling I also worked for them part time as a tutor, and teachers assistant, teaching Photshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and Lightwave 3D. I graduated at the top of my class.

In 2005 I went to another school in Eatontown called "CDM Institutes" where I learned about AutoCAD, and SolidWorks which are programs for drafting and drawing professional plans.

Now my "educational Sebatical" is ended, (for now) and I'm looking to get back into working full time as a "High-End Residential Finish Carpenter"
I am currently looking for a medium to larger sized company that is in need of ONLY a trim person.

Even though I am capable of other carpentry skills I'm looking for someone that wants only high-end residential finish carpenters, to work preferably in the Monmouth County and Ocean County area and/or within 50 miles of those Counties. I'm willing to work back in NYC also, but the earliest start I can do there would be 8:00AM no trains from my town get me into Manhattan any earlier.

I am also interested in working for a good cabinet making company. Over the years, I have worked for many high-end, Union, and non-union cabinet shops. I have worked with shapers, all sizes, and makes of table saws, laminators, sanders, routers, and router tables. I have made circular stairs, doors, formica, wood lamination. just about everything, having to do with cabinets, and cabinet-making.
SALARY REQUIRMENTS
Being that I have over 25 years experience, all my own tools, transportation, license, and the fact that I've done some of the nicest high-end residential Finish Woodworking in the Country. I don't think it would be unreasonable to start out at between $18-$25 an hour, with medical, dental, and vision benifits all being made available within the 1st 6 months. Then again I'm easy to get along with and everything is negotable. The one thing that isn't negotable, is the fact that I want to do FINISH CARPENTRY, don't hire me as a finish carpenter, then have me installing insulation, painting, and humping lumber up a 6 flight walkup. If you'r in the business long enough you know the value of having your carpenters do carpentry, and hiring laborers to do the laboring. It's much more efficent money wise when it comes to the bottom line at the end of a job. I'm a finish carpenter, not a coffee boy. OK With that said, I'd like to tell you a bit more about me.

Working With Bruce Morano As Your Carpenter

I'm a hard worker, that loves what I do, and I'm good at it. I'm born and raised in America, so I speaka de Language berry goo (that means "very good" for those of you that don't speak broken english). What I don't know, I'll go over with you, and tell you It needs some clarification. On the other hand, I'm a 44 year old man, and I don't need any Father figures to inspire me or hold my hand, or think that they can talk down to me just because they're name is on the bottom of my check. I AM A PROFESSIONAL CARPENTER If you have leadership issues, I'm not your man. If you need the world to know that you're the "BIG BOSS", then hire immigrants, retards or kids, that need that type of treatment. I don't, I'm very easy to work WITH. (Key words being, work with ) We're both mature adult males, lets work together with a mutual respect for the fact that you're nice enough, and in a position, to give me work, and I understand that you have to talk with the clients, the architech's, the other craftsman,, and that the job isn't over for you at 4:30PM etc..(Trust me, I know, I used to do your job, when I ran my own company, and the reason I'm looking to work for you now, is because I didn't like that end of the business, so I respect what it is you have to deal with everyday) and on the other hand you should respect the fact that I have 25 years of experience to bring into your company, and I'll make you money with my skills, that feeds your family and buy's you & your families things, because I'm a professional carpenter. I am trained "old school", and I am a "perfectionist". I'm not above learning new things, and I love my work. It's a mutual relationship. If you need your butt kissed there are alot of other kids, minority's, the handicapped, ex-cons, people in recovery and Illegal Immigrants learning the trade that are more than willing to put up with verbal abuse to learn a trade. I'm beyond that stage. I expect to be treated with the same respect I give you. We are both working together, toward the same goals, to make money, and run a good clean business with great W.O.M. advertising. Now that we understand one another, lets get to work!!! OK?

You might want to take a look around at the rest of the pages on this website. I do have my Degree in Computer graphics, and I can serve your company in other ways as well. You might want to have a website made for your company, and I'd be the man for ya. I have an AA Degree plus 2 other Votech Schools certificates, that add up to me having the equivilent to a BA Degree.

I'm also looking to learn AutoCAD soon. Either on my own, after I start working again, and have a good regular income, or for your company, and I'd take the classes, so that I can do work with AutoCAD for your and your company too.
Some software titles that I can work with are:
  • Photoshop 6.0 ~ CS
